I hate mages because they always seem to feel that they are above everyone else so they have the right to constantly ks

Actually, i think ksing is not wrong. It does not break the game rule. It is part of the game... :x It is just a matter of courteousness and kindness i think.

But i still hate mages.(especially lightning/ice mage)

I don't hate Bowmen, per say. It's just that out of all the job classes, they don 't get a Party Skill, nor do they get a lot of HP or MP (Keep in mind, my primary account is my Spearman). They're kinda plain; the only thing that sets them apart is their accuracy. Otherwise, they're ok.

however there is a class which I'll never choose to be and thats warrior couse this class is just lame , no range att just strength , its just lame.
some will say that bandits r lame too...but bandits r much more faster than warriors.

Alot of the times I accidentally KS people because my prime attack is Magic Claw (which is ranged, and is somewhat random at times). Alot of people are confused as to what killstealing is. Killstealing isn't being on the same map and killing the enemies you were as they spawn. Killstealing is when you're actively attacking a monster that someone else is currently attacking. So when I'm on my mage on Pig Beach leeching a friend, don't say I'm KS'ing you if I'm killing the pigs that spawn on the same little island area you're standing on. That bothers me to no end.

Yeah, I've ran into quite a few people who killsteal on purpose. They do it just to piss people off really. But 9 times out of 10, I'm accidentally killstealing because my Magic Claw hits the enemy behind the one I was aiming for (ie: the one the other player was attacking). It's not as though we have complete control over our magic claw like melee classes do. My archer used to have the same exact issue around level 17-18 before.

I didnt choose mages b/c i dont like them. They ks alot! When im fighting in an area, sometimes mages come along and start killing them like snails.

You are very right there!!!! However sadly this is the case:

let's say i am training at Tree That Grew Slime I. You should know it is a row of trees that has lots of slimes. When a warrior is training happily there, a mage come and start killing all the slimes. Let's say warrior is walking to kill slime a(for example). Mage just wield the wand/staff and killed the slime straight away even without the warrior touching it. May i ask? How to train like this? Theif and warrior can't train in these kinds of conditions. Not ksing in fact but it affects their training much more than ksing So that's why when i see a mage, i would think that he is another kser, though i know not all are so horrible

I think there are too many mages in the MS world, I don't see enough bowmen I think. I don't KS a lot. I just do to piss of other people. For Example. If I accidently killed a monster that someone first hit and they reply, "OMGWTF!11 STOP KSING YOU N0OB" I just keep on doing it. Or if someone is like, "I'm going to mass defame you if you keep on Ksing."

So in conclusion, my philosphy is that if they add a please or are polite to their request, I leave them be.

I'm not one to be jobist, but here it goes. Sins. Sins need to SHOVE it. Why? They're mean, nasty little buggers that ADORE making people feel miserable. Every assasin I have ever met has been rude, obnoxious, immature, and cruel. They KS, steal, defame, and con. They are basically pros, but much weaker. It's all because of Lucky Seven and Haste. They can attack every monster on the damn field in 10 seconds, can KS in that amount of time too. They act as though they are the best class in the game, when they behave more like children than anything else. I'm afraid to use my own sin, just in case someone automatically hates me for having a claw. :x

Anyway, I too appologize for KSing, though it's hard when you're a cleric. Besides, if the areas medium or small, I just leave rather than ask people to change channels. They never do anyway, so why bother talking to them.

Man, as the many people here have stated, I hate mages. Now why? Its because the majority of mages I meet with are irritating. Now, some mages have been nice, but most are rotten. I'm a warrior so its really horrible for us. One hour I'm there happily killing some horny mushrooms then some mage comes outta nowhere and claws away at my spot. What is a warrior forced to do? Leave. But sometimes I ask them nicely and they will leave. Others, even if I ask nicely they still ks me. And also, I hate how wizet seems to have overpowered mages. Really. I was a level 29 warrior then this level 21 mage comes and starts dominating my spot. I didn't mind because the room was crowded nways. So I figure I go on 1 half and he goes on the other. I was there busily hunting at my spot and not his then he has the nerve to come over and take my few kills. Then later he goes on how this training spot is so nice, then goes on to tell me to leave. WTF? I was there first. And you know that place were zombie mushrooms spawn fast, its the platform near the first drop. Anyways, I train there alot and I always see mages just fall down then cast magic claw. WTF? Then they go on to kill the rest then leave. Its like drive by ksing. Oh well that's why I hate mages.. Well, most of em.

Warriors think that because of their massive attack that they can hit whatever they want whenever they want.

Mages think that because they can deal lots of damage with their girly little claw that they can hit whatever they want whenever they want.

Not that thieves or archers are much better.

And I could tell sad, sad stories about all the times that I've been KSed. But it's kinda pointless. It's happened to everyone, and it just strikes me as a somewhat lame thing to freak out about. It's very annoying, yes, but it can't be avoided and the best solution is to prove you have more dignity than them and leave. Starting fights with people is dumb.

Like every other online game, this one is filled with people that are only concerned with themselves and how they can put themselves on the top.

I hate bandits. Seriously I do.

Out of respect when I'm walking somewhere even if I see a newb doing 1 damage to an axe stump I will gladly wait or just happly jump over the stump usually taking damage in the process but not caring much either way.. The problem with bandits is they are never mediocre. They are either so horribly crappy that they go around doing 2 damage to everything making me wait far too often, or they are hitting for 6 times what everyone else is and because of it they just blow through anything I might be trying to kill.

They are either too good or too crappy, never inbetween and quiet frankly, its irritating beyond belief

I usually don't have problems with mages ks'ing, but most, if not all times, when I was ks'ed, it was by mages. And my version of KS is the same as &David's, it is when I'm attacking something and they just come and kill it purposely. And because mages could deal a lot of damage and kill things over a short period of time, they kill theirs and come after mine. Any class could do this, but mages tend to do it more than any other class. However, I must say that some mages are nice enough to stay in their own 'area' and leave me alone, but others, they just don't give a damn.

So ultimately, it comes down to courtesy and most mages can't seem to show any.

Unfortunatly if the GM recieves proof of KS, its a 3 day ban, 6 day ban, 9 day ban, but people just don't fuss about it enough to report GM. I don't get what they mean by botting though.

Also, back on the point, sure mages KS, and we're all tired of it, but later mages tend to become a weak class.
I vote for warrior, they is just no exictment in playing warrior. They're too strong, lots of health, and they beat things up, just slowly and unoticably, untill they reach next job.

It seems to me mages are the worse when it comes to KS'ing early warriors, But seriously, when warriors get to 40, they outdamage mages easily. So mages, because it's hard to deal with them in the beginning, but now I don't really have a problem with any class. No class is perfect.

You have to realize, there's only 4 (5 if you count sins and bandits) classes, they can't just say "everyone who is a total jerk, join this class." It's spread out.

Where's the option for the people playing a character of a certain class? I don't hate any of the classes. I think I somewhat dislike the Rogue equipment for their, in my opinion, skimpy outfits. Besides that I don't hate any class because no class killsteals or anything negative like that.

Mages aren't all that big and bad, when I was on my warrior I constantly ks'ed mages and then when they told me to leave I'd say "Haha, that's rich, a mage telling a warrior to leave". It used to be my hobby, annoying ks'ing mages.

Now I'm a mage myself, why? So I can carry on ks'ing mages.. just on a bigger scale. :wink:

Note: There are SOME good mages in the world, like this one time, me and another mage were at the top of henesys hunting ground and we both took a side, so I got to kil the mushrooms on one side, and she got the mushrooms on the other side. :P It was a very nice thing to do, because she was actually there before me.

Almost too obvious...Mages are considered the most hated? Why? I don;t really know. I'll tel you why I hate them though. First of all they always ks, and don't lie I know you mages reading this right now have ksed. They always think they're better when they really are gonna suck after every other job gets around level 50+(Thief, Warrior, Bowmen). Plus Mages are WAY TO common. You see them there...you see them here...you see them in giving AIDS to Maya in her house...lol. As you can see my point.

I dont hate mages. But I dont necessarily like them either. I admit, as a Bandit Ive had very bad KSing expiriences with Mages, but when I get angry I always remind myself, "Theres those who did it on accident and those who are dipshats."

The ones who do it on accident always apologize or leave to go to a different area. :3

And I also admit, Mages are too highly overated. For many, Mages are like a Get-Pro-Quick class for those who cant hold off in the long run with the other classes. (EX: I once saw a level 33 Shewarrior and a level 41 Ice/Lit Mage training in the same area. The Shewarrior was having a hard time leveling, but heaving a massive 500 damage per hit, as where the Mage was still doing damage in the 300's, even though s/he is at a higher level than the Shewarrior.)

But, you have to look deeper... There are nice Mages out there... D:

When people say they hate warriors because they 'try' to Ks me... that is just not resonable that's cruel, and EVERYONE knows that not all mages Ks but when i was in Curse Eye tree..

1. A bandit comes in and helps to keep an even spawn and leaves without saying a word, Bndits are like my brothers man I LUV U GUYS!

2. An archer comes in takes the top 2 floors while i train on the others. SHE WAS KOOL!

3. a lower leveled warrior and a sin come in and we start chatting and train on different floors those guys were A-OK!!!

4. A fire mage comes in... he is a higher level than me and thinks he is soo great and mighty, he tries to ks me but fails miserably he then runs away after i find a scimitar (51 att OMG any1 wanna buy)

People are too harsh on mages. Some mages can be very annoying, but I've met many very nice mages.

On the other hand, the most annoying class that I've found are sins, by far. Ever since beta, sins always feel the need to ks, act annoying, and yell at you a lot. For sins, it's just that they need to ks for stars. Sometimes its really hard to get ices without buying them so they need to mooch a bit.

People are too harsh on mages. Some mages can be very annoying, but I've met many very nice mages.

On the other hand, the most annoying class that I've found are sins, by far. Ever since beta, sins always feel the need to ks, act annoying, and yell at you a lot. I've been looking for a nice sin for a long time. I haven't found one. Although if I met some of the sins from HS, I bet they're nice ^_~

Thank you very much. That sums it pretty much up. All the sins i have met untill now were ****y, infantile, spot / map huggers, telling people to leave or change channels _even_ if they arrived later, mass KSing and if they are too low level for that, complain at every possible moment about being KSed. They are like a bunch of kids with no sense of courtesy, manners or community whatsoever. I even stop playing my own Sin because of that.

Mages are not that annoying and IMO dont even KS that much. Most of the time its without intent. But there are a lot of mages out there, and from 20-30 they are the strongest, fastest killing class. I would guess that the number of players between level 10-30 is the largest and so word of mouth about KSing mages are the widest spread rumor. Wait until you hit level 40 and above. Thats where the Sins are getting stronger and faster. Thats when they act like they own every channel or map they are in, with their name tag right there in the background. Still looking for one single high level Sin with some manners. I haved played every class except bowman. Currently playing a mage.

I do not like mages for the following reasons:

1: There's just too many of them! Everyone wants to use 'teh majik'
2: KSers galore (not all of 'em do it, but there's just too many mages, so there's too many mage ksers)
3: They're the most uppity jerks I've ever met. I say "stop KSing", they say "You're just jealous you're not as good as me."... just because they can warp everywhere and attack with range.

People say that warriors are the worst KSers at high level, because they eventually are the most powerful... you might want to add on that. They probably do it out of revenge for all the long-ranged guys KSing them and making fun of them for not being as good as them (which is crap).

Not all mages are bad... two people I know (including my g/f) are mages. The next worst I think are 'sins... mostly for similar reasons... there's alot of them, they think they're all that and whenever you're fighting somewhere, all of a sudden, here comes the hop-tossing 'sin (hop-tossing meaning hop and chuck stars... all 'sins ever seem to do)

A lot of mage haters... you hate them because they KS you - LIKE YOU DON'T!? People don't KS you on purpose, unless they're REAL *******s. Just because they're a mage doesn't mean they will KS you. KSing them later on when you're 10x higher level than they are just means you're lame and childish. "Oh you hit me so now I'll hit you back!" GROW UP, NOOB!

As for the most hated character... I'd have to go for Assassins. There's almost as much assassins in this game as Mages, the only difference is that MAGES don't have the ATTITUDE!

The attitude that they think they're the best, that they can KS anyone, that they're the strongest and that everyone else around them are weak helpless LOSERS who can't do anything compared to them... THAT'S the attitude. And Mages don't have that, but SURE AS HELL Assassins do. Except the nice ones... but yeah, nice people ARE hard to find.

I play as a mage and I do my best to be polite and considerate at all times. I have found there are rude, selfish people in all classes so it seems silly to stereotype and say all mages or all assassins are evil.

I have only been playing the game for about a month now and my general experience is that a very large percentage of the people playing are really selfish and never learnt how to share. I don't find this is more so for any particular class. The main thing I don't understand is why people play an online multi-player game if they want a whole map to themselves and don't wany anyone around? But now I am getting off topic..

DEFINITION:

There are certain maps in Maple Story which offer a favorable training spot for certain classes. At lower levels, these maps are common to all. Examples are Henesys Hunting Grounds, the Slime Tree in Ellinia, The Tree That Grew, and Pig Beach. These are common training spots because the monsters there offer a good amount of EXP and they spawn at a relatively fast rate and in good amount, thus making training faster.

It is because of this "fast training" that these maps provide which cause these maps to be occupied most of the time by other players.

However, it is important to note that on these maps, the spawn rate is incredibly fast, and if a certain player is training there, it is impossible for that player to occupy the entire map, because he can't move fast enough AND kill the monsters at the same time. This allows for more than one player to be able to train at the same map at the same channel at the same time.
There is no set limit as to the maximum number of players a certain map can have, but as a general rule, if the player that was already there on the map starts to kill less monsters because another player has entered the map, then that other player is interfering with the first player's training. This is reguarded by many as Kill Stealing, or KS.

Now let us all agree on one thing - if a player, regardless of its class, is already at a certain spot on a map when you get there, it is generally correct that the player who came after should find a spot that does not affect the player that was already there.

A very good example is the Kerning Subways, a common training spot for Clerics. The map IS big enough for 2 Clerics to occupy it. No ONE Cleric can kill ALL the monsters in the map before new ones spawn, and if it can then he/she is strong enough to go train somewhere else.

The problem appears when short-sighted, idiotic and selfish people (usually called noobs), think that they CAN occupy the whole map for themselves, and so they get angry when another person enters the map and they ask you to change channels.

A lot of people get angry when asked to change channels, but why? In a lot of cases, if the map is full of other players, and you come in and start to kill monsters, and someone that was already there asks you to change channels, then you can get as pissed as you want. But just know that in this case YOU are wrong. If you continue to kill the monsters then you are KSing, because you are interfering with the players ability to train at that spot.

I think I know why I hates assassins so much:

There are a lot of noobs in this game.
There are a lot of assassins in this game.
Therefore, the chances of a noob being an assassin is quite high.

(in math class they always taught me to show my working):

Take 10 noobs.

1 becomes Fighter.
2 become Archer.
3 become Mage.
4 become Assassin.

Chances of me finding a noob Assassin = 40% <-- higher than any of the others!

Conclusion: MOST noobs are assassins. That does not mean all assassins are noobs. Mind the logic here. ^_^

Get over it, if we stay, it's because we're hunting for something in particular, but generally...if we're around lower level characters, it's because we're passing through or helping train a friend.

heh...I agree with you..I am a relatively weak fire mage who maxed energy bolt. It is also common for mages to have LOW hp, meaning, if you are not a cleric, then you spend massive amounts on pots. I know all other classes have to use pots too, but those that have low hp need to use them more. When I walk through a map, I would rather not be hit by the monster in question unless it is a lower leveled monster that damages 50 and below. So I kill it. And if I ks someone accidently, I stop and apologize. I ALWAYS STOP AND APOLOGIZE, no matter how late I am running or if I am in a crowded spot. Now its really not that bad.

I also am one of those people that if I am training alone on a map and another character comes in, I don't really mind. Sure I'll say things to my friends in chat about that, but I won't say "CC PLZ" If they stay, thats fine, as long as we're on opposite ends of the map at the same time so the spawn is relatively good. If the person takes all the kills on "their" side and then comes to "mine" and starts killing everything so that I don't get a chance to kill anything or even half as much, usually a high leveled sin or higher leveled (ice/light) mage, I make the f7 face. Now most people are nice enough to keep the spawn pretty equal, and we reach a common consensus of "you stay there and I'll stay here". The nice thing some people do is if they get there and they don't feel like training or if they're just passing through, then they cc and/or they say "im jus passin through" and im fine with that.

Whew..that was alot of ranting......but yeah, I guess I mind 1) sins or 2) ice/light mages. (even though 3 of my best friends are those, they just ks too easily...and sometimes just for fun...-_-)

People take KS too seriously. It's like, they're LOOKING for a reason to fight.
I find it funny when I just entered the area, am just passing by, and the guy asks me to CC when I haven't killed ANYTHING. -_-

I'm a level 52 Cleric, and the noob level 100+ Hermit asked me to CC... OH MY GAWD! :shock:
