That's the problem but think about this.

Even with super good shield like 75 def and shield mastery 100%
That's about 150 def which reduced 50 dmg.

Now i want to know if a monster did like 800 dmg in higher levels and i use shield to reduce the damage to only 750? Does it mage a significant difference.

Also i just found out 2 handed weapon has more range than 1 handed weapon. This will reduce the chances of you being hit.

But then, it is a little slower than 1 handed sword with more damage... Well this whole thing questions stumped me so please everybody, those who have played a warrior, could you please give a piece of advice and vote?

The slowness of 2h swords is made up by using your uber strong skills.

Speed: normal can attack any monster fast enough before he come close to you? or must it be speed: fast?

2 handed. 2 handed weapons are much better then 1 handed.

They do more damage and the speed isn't that much slower than 1 handed.

actually, i never really picked a one hand or two hand sword, in my inventory, i always carry the two handed sword and 1 hand sword/shield of the lvl i can use. When i see a monster that is easier to hit with two handed sword, some slow moving monsters, i take that out, when i find faster and mroe annoying little thing, i take out my shield and 1 hand sword. it has worked great so far, i don't see why u have to stick to 2 handed or 1 handed sword since mastery work on any swords......

btw 2h sword do much higher damage, even if the 1h sword have more attack, (a bit more, meaby a couple of att 1-3 more than 2h sword) the 2h sword will do more damage because of the damage done formula. so i would take the 2h sword to do more damage

more damage = best defence, u kill before they touch u ^_^

and btw, there's not lot of monster that do PHYSICAL RANGE DAMAGE because the shield until lvl 60 only have physical damage, and with better range and better damage u kill faster close range monster so u dont get hit

I feel that 1-Hand sword can be better at an EARLIER level (Below 40ish)

But I vote 2-Hand Sword. Mostly for the reason stated above. More overall Damage and Power. Larger swing range and stab range. The speed can easily be made up with Sword booster (2nd job skill Fighter or Page). I find that the shield is only useful during the earlier stage, where damage is still within a 100-200's range (reduction of 50 per hit saves you meso on potion) but when damage starts to increase, the shield becomes useless, and starts to slow you down. You won't be able to kill the monster fast enough, and with the short range, you can't know em back that well with SB or PS.

All in on, 2 handers are best in the long run.

2h is way stronger but 1h have better def.
So i think u should go with 2h =DD

One Handed Sword is better. Juz get any random shield scroll it with Shield WA scrolls and it'll make up for the dmg difference between 1 handed and 2 handed. This way, you get the same dmg and can attack much faster.

Once you can scroll a decent Attack Shield or Str Shield, One Hand Swords begin to win out during your high 140s, due to Brandish having a fixed range. Faster attacks, good damage, fixed range.

They win in pure DPS.

1 handed if you are rich and you can buy a shield with WA, otherwise a 2 handed.

You guys must be kidding...1-3 attack difference is nothing compared to the speed difference. Normally, a two-hander is slower but has almost the same damage as a one-hander. Plus, you can get scrolls for shield attack(which I hear are expensive) and that makes your one-hander more powerful than a two-hander.
About the range...ever did Jump Quests? It's the same but horizontally, you simply have to train your knowledge of range on your weapon.

You guys must be kidding... 5-6 more attacks per second is nothing compared to the speed difference... Normally, there is about a 5 or so attack difference, but with fast 2h swords becoming more available, it has alot more damage as compared to a one hander, with an unnoticeable speed difference. You know, the formulas for damage with 1 and 2 handers are different.
