alot of people have said that the more fame you have , the more chance of item drops. Well i think that it is true because my friend has 60 fame and hse gets ALOT of items while im 11 fame and probably train more and have gotten like... 4 items??? in all my maplin... so pls confirm and also ALOT of other friends have high fame and more items... or is it just a myth or luck?

Myth. Drops are basically random. It all depends on luck. (and not LUK. I just mean normal everyday luck :P)

Fame does not increase your chance of drops....so that means that your friend is luckier than you, fame is only used for to make guilds, wear certain equipments and do some quests

Guilds? I thought it was just an informal club... if they're real then how do you go about finding a listing and joining them?

i think he is talking about JMS, where 100 fame can make a good guild, and -100 fame can make an evil guild. again, thats JMS only.

although ppl say yes its luck (everyday luck). but i don't know if anyone can REALLY confirm it.... maybe someone with 50+ fame can try to compare the drops. but again, if he does have more item. u can say that's just luck.... have to really get a large number of players with high fame to see if the drops do get better in my opinion. (well, again u can also say those players just happen to be lucky if they do get good drops......)

If u go to Ranking in KMS, there r ppl with 9999 Fame. If u think Fame = More drop, doesnt that mean they got 9999 items per day?  Think pls ppl, fame DOES NOT AFFECT DROP RATE. My Warrior got 35 fame and got 0 drop in lvl 47-48, my mage got 5 fame and got 7 drop from 32-33.

Poor attempt at humor... sorry.

But let me give the coders perspective on something like fame (no I don't code for Wizet, but I do code on games in my spare time). Everything has a function, including cash shop and 3rd Jobs, but not all of the jobs are obvious. I once coded an "Ego" system. The more monsters you killed the higher your ego. If you died it reduded your ego, then made it so that some equipment required different levels of ego to use. The funniest speculation of all was that the go system was tied in to other system (we didn't have a percentage drop like here, but what we had was more variety in the stats of stuff that dropped and less creatures that actually dropped). First of all, the extra work is just not worth it to add a system like that, and second of all, as was already pointed out, there are people with 9999 fame, who have spent time and erergy to get it up that far, but not through any type of "ingame" play. It just doesn't seem likely that they have done anything such as tweaking drops based on fame, and if they have 5-50 points difference wouldn't make a noticable change. I've had days training on boars where I see lots of stuff, then the next day don't get any drops at all. It's random, as it should be.

Conclusion: Fame does not affect drop rate.
