(Wii) Super Robot Wars Neo

The previous SRW game was SRW Z for the PS2, right? Now Banpresto's releasing SRW Neo for the Wii.

  • Not to be confused with the Playstation Neo Super Robot Wars, this is the third title to boast fully 3-D battle scenes; it is also the only title to not feature any "real robot" series, and Shippu! Iron Leaguer marks the first non-combat oriented series to be featured. Kanzen Shouri Daiteioh, a planned anime that was never produced beyond a pilot episode, will be fully fleshed out in this game. This is the only game in the series to utilize radial-based movement instead of grid-based.

An all-super lineup sure looks interesting - though God Gundam is in there. God Gundam actually looks more like a real than a super... (just my opinion)

New movement system + 3D graphics lookin' good, eh? Though I'm not too fond of robot pilots that absolutely HAVE to yell out the names of their attacks.

But I really don't get how baseballs can damage other mechs. (Shippu! Iron Leaguer)

This game notably features no representatives from the "Real Robot" genre of mecha anime; even the included Gundam series, Mobile Fighter G Gundam, is an (in)famous Super Robot spinoff of the otherwise-Real Gundam franchise.

"Perfect Victory Daiteioh" is a planned anime that was cancelled before being aired, leaving only a single pilot episode. The anime will be represented in the game with assistance from the original animation studio.

I don't know how the definition got convoluted into a positive meaning of a westerner who's into Anime/Manga, but that's not the definition.

Super Robot Wars series plays NOTHING like SSB. SRW is a turn-based RPG sort of game featuring robots and ships from various series. You do not control it like a fighting game. Think more along the lines of Advance Wars.

Actually, Super Robot Taisen is the same as Super Robot Wars. Taisen can be translated into Wars.
