    Icon4 The Complete Gunslinger's Guide

    Introduction

    Intro Statement(s)

To start this guide off, I guess I should say that this is my first guide. I used many other "already made" guides are made this! Since this guide is in the Beta stages, the guide isn't fully complete. Also, it would also be helpful to help me out with this guide. Remember, this is a guide about being a Gunslinger, not a Brawler. If you wanted to be a Brawler, read or find another guide. -End of Statement(s)-

    Upcoming Updates

I will put links on my guide soon. I currently can't. :(

    Versions

    v.0.1 - Beta Release
v.0.1.1 - Added another Skill Build for Gunslingers
    v.0.2 - Added ElderDragon's Gunslinger Build
v.0.3 - Fixed some Skill Names on Builds | Added "Final Skill Set" at the end of each skill distribution
    v.0.4 - Added ElderDragon's Outlaw Build

    Pirate Jobs

    Pirate -> Gunslinger -> Outlaw -> Corsair

    New Character AP Distribution

    STR = Any Number
    DEX = Any Number
    INT = 4 or 5
    LUK = 4 or 5

Your STR should always be equal to your level, so you just need to put 1 at STR and 4 on DEX per level. But if you want to maximize your damage, you can put all your points on DEX each level, except for levels that are multiples of 5. For example, at Lvls. 11, 12, 13 and 14, put all your points on DEX. So, on level 15, put them on STR. This would allow you to equip stuff from the right level while dealing a higher general damage.

Beginner AP and SP Distribution (Recommended)

    Lvl. 2: +1 Nimble Feet (1)
    Lvl. 3: +1 Nimble Feet (2)
    Lvl. 4: +1 Nimble Feet (3)
    Lvl. 5: +1 HP Recovery (1)
    Lvl. 6: +1 HP Recovery (2)
    Lvl. 7: +1 HP Recovery (3)

    Final Skill Set

    Three Snails (0)
    Nimble Feet (Max)
    HP Recovery (Max)

From Lvl. 2 to Lvl. 10, put ALL your AP on DEX until your STR becomes equal to your level.

At lvl. 10, you are able to make your job advancement to Pirate. You'll need to go to Nautilus Harbor to be able to become a Pirate. There are two ways to get to Nautilus Harbor.

    1. Talk to Phil in Lith Harbor to take you to Nautilus Harbor.
    2. Go to the map called "The Forest East of Henesys" and go into the portal.

Once you arrived in Nautilus Port, go into the whale ship/submarine called "The Nautilus". Kyrin is located the Control Room in the Upper Layer of the ship/submarine. By now, you should fit the requirement of 20 DEX, since it should be around 50.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    First Job: Pirate

    Skills Info

Bullet Time - Increases accuracy and avoidabillity
Flash Fist - Uses MP to speed up the punch to rapidly attack enemies
Somersault Kick - A devastating kick that accompanies a backward somersault. Attacks all enemies in the vicinity
Double Shot - Fires two bullets at once to apply double damage to monsters
Dash - Press left or right arrow twice to temporary boost speed and jumping ability

    Pirate Skill Distribution(s)

There are three skill distributions for pre-gunslingers. Each is a bit different from the rest, so choose which one you prefer.

    1st Build

    Lvl. 10: +1 Double Shot (1)
    Lvl. 11: +3 Double Shot (4)
    Lvl. 12: +3 Double Shot (7)
    Lvl. 13: +3 Double Shot (10)
    Lvl. 14: +3 Double Shot (13)
    Lvl. 15: +3 Double Shot (16)
    Lvl. 16: +3 Double Shot (19)
    Lvl. 17: +1 Double Shot (20), +2 Bullet Time (2)
    Lvl. 18: +3 Bullet Time (5)
    Lvl. 19: +3 Bullet Time (8)
    Lvl. 20: +3 Bullet Time (11)
    Lvl. 21: +3 Bullet Time (14)

    Lvl. 23: +3 Bullet Time (20)
    Lvl. 24: +3 Dash (3)
    Lvl. 25: +3 Dash (6)
    Lvl. 26: +3 Dash (9)
    Lvl. 27: +1 Dash (10), +2 Somersault Kick (2)
    Lvl. 28: +3 Somersault Kick (5)
    Lvl. 29: +3 Somersault Kick (8)
    Lvl. 30: +3 Somersault Kick (11)

    Final Skill Set

    Bullet Time (Max)
    Flash Fist (0)
    Somersault Kick (11)
    Double Shot (Max)
    Dash (10)

This is a standard build for Pre-Gunslingers. Bullet Time is maxed before Dash.

    Level 20 Double Shot(Max) MP -7; Damage 80% x 2 Hits, attack range 350.
An obvious choice if you want to be a Gunslinger.

Level 20 Bullet Time (Max) Accuracy and avoidability +20. (Passive)
This skill is the equivalent of Focus, the archer's skill. Another must if you want to be able to hit the monsters and have less misses.

Level 10 Dash (Max) MP -5; Increases speed and jump for 20 seconds.
This skill is like Haste minus the jump bonus, but instead of being passive, you need to double press an arrow to activate it.

Level 11 Somersault Kick MP -11; Damage 154%, attack up to 5 monsters.
Flash Fist or Somesault Kick. I chose Somersault Kick. Why? It allows you to attack multiple enemies instead of focusing on a single one.

    2nd Build

    Lvl. 10 +1 Double Shot (1)
    Lvl. 11 +3 Double Shot (4)
    Lvl. 12 +3 Double Shot (7)
    Lvl. 13 +3 Double Shot (10)
    Lvl. 14 +3 Double Shot (13)
    Lvl. 15 +3 Double Shot (16)
    Lvl. 16 +3 Double Shot (19)
    Lvl. 17 +1 Double Shot (20), +2 Dash (2)
    Lvl. 18 +3 Dash (5)
    Lvl. 19 +3 Dash (8)
    Lvl. 20 +2 Dash (10), +1 Bullet Time (1)
    Lvl. 21 +3 Bullet Time (4)
    Lvl. 22 +3 Bullet Time (7)
    Lvl. 23 +3 Bullet Time (10)
    Lvl. 24 +3 Bullet Time (13)
    Lvl. 25 +3 Bullet Time (16)
    Lvl. 26 +3 Bullet Time (19)
    Lvl. 27 +1 Bullet Time (20), +2 Somersault Kick (2)
    Lvl. 28 +3 Somersault Kick (5)
    Lvl. 29 +3 Somersault Kick (8)
    Lvl. 30 +3 Somersault Kick (11)

    Final Skill Set

    Bullet Time (Max)
    Flash Fist (0)
    Somersault Kick (11)
    Double Shot (Max)
    Dash (10)

In this build, Dash is maxed before Bullet Time. Not too much difference from the 1st Build.

    Level 20 Double Shot(Max) MP -7; Damage 80% x 2 Hits, attack range 350
An obvious choice if you want to be a Gunslinger.

Level 10 Dash (Max) MP -5; Increases speed and jump for 20 seconds
This skill is like Haste minus the jump bonus, but instead of being passive, you need to double press an arrow to activate it.

Level 20 Bullet Time (Max) Accuracy and avoidability +20. (Passive)
This skill is the equivalent of Focus, the archer's skill. Another must if you want to be able to hit the monsters and have less misses.

Level 11 Somersault Kick MP -11; Damage 154%, attack up to 5 monsters.
Flash Fist or Somesault Kick. I chose Somersault Kick. Why? It allows you to attack multiple enemies instead of focusing on a single one.

    3rd Build

    Lvl. 10 +1 Double Shot (1)
    Lvl. 11 +3 Double Shot (4)
    Lvl. 12 +3 Double Shot (7)
    Lvl. 13 +3 Double Shot (10)
    Lvl. 14 +3 Double Shot (13)
    Lvl. 15 +3 Double Shot (16)
    Lvl. 16 +3 Double Shot (19)
    Lvl. 17 +1 Double Shot (20); +2 Somersault Kick (2)
    Lvl. 18 +3 Somersault Kick (5)
    Lvl. 19 +3 Somersault Kick (8)
    Lvl. 20 +3 Somersault Kick (11)
    Lvl. 21 +3 Somersault Kick (14)
    Lvl. 22 +2 Somersault Kick (16); +1 Dash (1)
    Lvl. 23 +3 Dash (4)
    Lvl. 24 +3 Dash (7)
    Lvl. 25 +3 Dash (10)
    Lvl. 26 +3 Bullet Time (3)
    Lvl. 27 +3 Bullet Time (6)
    Lvl. 28 +3 Bullet Time (9)
    Lvl. 29 +3 Bullet Time (12)
    Lvl. 30 +3 Bullet Time (15)

    Final Skill Set

    Bullet Time (15)
    Flash Fist (0)
    Somersault Kick (16)
    Double Shot (Max)
    Dash (10)

This build is probably the most unique build. You put SP into Somersault Kick after you max Double Shot and you don't max Bullet Time. Read below to find out more about the build.

Level 20 Double Shot (Max) MP -7; Damage 80% x 2 Hits, attack range 350
An obvious choice if you want to be a Gunslinger.

Level 16 Somersault Kick (16) -14 MP, Damage 174%, Attack up to 6 enemies.
We stopped leveling Somersault kick at Lvl. 16 because it's the cap level for attacking up to 6 enemies.

Level 10 Dash (Max) MP -5; Increases speed and jump for 20 seconds
This skill is like Haste minus the jump bonus, but instead of being passive, you need to double press an arrow to activate it.

Level 15 Bullet Time (Max) Accuracy +15, Avoidability +15. (Passive)
15 accuracy is enough to be hitting monsters with high avoidability like the Jr. Necki, so we can stop at lvl. 15.

When you are [finally] lvl. 30, you should be able to get a job advancement to a Gunslinger.

[Important Note] The AP Distribution is the same in the 2nd Job Advancement.

    Training Spots: 1st Job

From level 22 to 31, it is recommended you keep training on KPQ (Kerning Party Quest), since it is a really useful for leveling and you can get prizes.

Lvl. 10+: Henesys Hunting Ground 1, Slime Tree, etc.
Lvl. 23 ~ 30: Kerning Party Quest, AriantPQ (Maybe)
    Lvl. 28+: Ant Tunnel

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Second Job: Gunslinger

    Skills Info

Gun Mastery - Boosts the accuracy and the mastery of the Guns
Invisible Shot - Attacks multiple monsters by quickly firing a round of gun, so fast that it's almost invisible to the naked eye
Grenade - Attacks a monster by throwing a grenade. The distance the grenade travels depends how long you press the skill key
Gun Booster - Use parts of HP and MP to temporary boost the firing speed of the Gun. This skill can only be triggered when the Gun is equipped
Blank Shot - This skill allows you to pretend to shoot a gun, faking out the monsters. Instead of firing out bullets, it'll fire a flag. This will temporary stun up to 2 monsters
Wings - Allows a longer, more sustained jump than a regular jump
Recoil Shot - Uses the recoil of the gun to run back after a gunshot

    Gunslinger Skill Distribution

There are two builds for Gunslingers. The 1st one maxes out Grenade, which is a fun skill, but useless in kjSean's opinion. The 2nd Build maxes out Recoil Shot, which is said to be more useful.

The (Extra) third build is the build ElderDragon recommended. It may be better than the first 2 bulids, but again. It is your choice.

    1st Build

    Grenade (5)
    Lvl. 69: +3
    Grenade (8)
    Lvl. 70: +3
    Grenade (11)

    Final Skill Set

    Gun Mastery (Max)
    Invisible Shot (Max)
    Grenade (11)
    Gun Booster (Max)
    Blank Shot (Max)
    Wings (Max)
    Recoil Shot (Max)

Why Blank Shot first? Because it's useful. Early Invisible Shot helps training, and it ensures you can spend the next levels on Gun Mastery, which leaves you out of good attacking skills for a few levels. Maxing Blank Shot will be really important on Lvl. 50+ for Ludibrium Maze PQ, since it offers support to jobs that do not have skills to increase their damage range (Including yourself).

Here is a Gunslinger build that ElderDragon recommended

    3rd Build

    Lvl. 30: +1 Invisible Shot (1)
    Lvl. 31: +3 Gun Mastery (6)
    Lvl. 32: +3 Gun Mastery (6)

    Lvl. 54: +1 Recoil Shot (20), +2 Wings (7)
    Lvl. 55: +3 Wings (10)
    Lvl. 56: +3 Blank Shot (3)
    Lvl. 57: +3 Blank Shot (6)
    Lvl. 58: +3 Blank Shot (9)

    Lvl. 68: +3 Grenade (5)
    Lvl. 69: +3 Grenade (8)
    Lvl. 70: +3 Grenade (11)

    Final Skill Set

    Gun Mastery (Max)
    Invisible Shot (Max)
    Grenade (11)
    Gun Booster (Max)
    Blank Shot (Max)
    Wings (Max)
    Recoil Shot (Max)

This build starts out with 1 Invisible Shot and then starts maxing out Gun Mastery.

    Training Spots: 2nd Job

Party Quests is the best choice for training. If you cannot join a party for party quests, just train in Orbis, Ludribrium, El Nath, Mu Lung, Herb Town, Aqua Road, Omega Sector, Ariant, Leafre, etc. Doesn't matter much as long you find a perfect place to train.

Lvl. 31 ~ 50 : Carnival Party Quest, Ludibrium PQ, or any place listed above
Lvl. 51 ~ 70 : Ludibrium Maze PQ, Orbis PQ, Herb Town PQ, or any place listed above

By now, you can choose between Ludibrium Maze, Orbis PQ and Herb Town PQs. Each of these PQs are different in many ways, but a good PQ to get fast exp. is the Ludibrium Maze PQ.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Third Job: Outlaw

Here is where it get's confusing. There are two types of builds for Outlaws; 1 vrs. 1 Build and Area Build. 1. vrs. 1 Builds mainly focusing on killing one monster, so it is great for boss hunting. Area build focuses on killing multiple monsters, so it can be useful for leveling quick too. I don't know which one I prefer, so look at the build before you choose. But, if you already chose the 1 vrs. 1 Outlaw, scroll down. If you chose an Area Outlaw, scroll down some more.

    Skills Info

Burst Fire - Increases the ptency and the number of bullets fired when using DOuble Shot
Octopus - Summons a loyal octopus to snare and attack foes. The summoned octopus will not move, however
Gaviota - Summons Gaviota, who's trained to threw a grenade at monsters. The summoned Gaviota will seek a monster, and when it finds one, it'll toss the grenade and disappear
Flamethrower - Attacks a monster nearby with a fire-based attack. The affected monster will keep recieving damage for a short period of time
Ice Splitter - Attacks the closest monster with an ice-based attack. The affected monster will be frozen for a period of time
Homing Beacon - Sends a parrot that'll mark a target on a monster. From then on out, all attacks will be focused on that monster

    Burst Fire (Max)
    Octopus (Max)
    Gaviota (Max)
    Flamethrower (21)
    Ice Splitter (Max)
    Homing Beacon (Max)

This is a 1 vrs. 1 Build, which means you'll prior skills that deals great amounts of damage on a single mob instead of lower area damage. This build is recommended for boss-killing. Burst Fire greatly improves Double Shot's damage. Even though it's a first job skill, it will deal 50% more damage than a maxed Homing Beacon, which means you'll kill strong monsters faster.

Even though it's not powerful, Homing Beacon is useful for it's second effect, which enables you to hit monsters behind many other "barrier" monsters (Like those Jr.Wraiths that get on your way when killing Headless Horsemen), and you will have to max it anyway to get Bullseye (A Corsair skill), which will definitly improve Homing Beacon.

Training Spots: 1 vrs. 1 Outlaw

    More Party Quests...

    Lvl. 71 ~ 100 : Herb Town PQ

The remaining PQs are the Henesys, Amoria, and Sharienen Guild PQ. Since there is not much to do, you could now start to "officially" start killing monsters.

    Lvl. 101 ~ 120 : Haunted House - Kill the Headless Horsemen

The reason of why you should kill a Headless Horseman is mathematic. A Headless Horseman has 3.5m HP and gives 300k exp, while a Blue Wyvern, from the same level, has 57k HP and gives around 3k exp. To get the same amount of experience, you would have to kill 100 Wyverns, which would result on 5.7m HP. Aside from that, it is much more fun to spend 5 minutes killing the same boss monster than spending 5 minutes killing countless wyverns. You should just worry about keeping it under constant damage, since it deals massive amounts of damage by either hitting you or throwing it's head on you, and you do have less health than a same level archer.

And now for the Area Build...

The area build does not max Octopus, but it enables you to train much faster. It works even better if you train on ice-based or fire-based monsters, that double your skills damage.

Lvl. 100+(Maybe): Encounter with the Buddha

Dreamy Ghosts (Himes) are not too bad to train on. This training spot might be best for Brawlers, so watch out if you are planning to train here!

    Lvl. 101 ~ 110: Blue Wyvern's Nest

Take the next flight to Leafre. This map has only Blue Wyverns, and they take twice the normal damage to Flamethrower. Easy kills, fast leveling, simple, don't you think? You'll only need 3536 Blue Wyverns to level to Lvl. 102.

Well, I didn't really check the build specifically. If people spots some errors, I'll fix em.

    So, see any errors? o.o

Well, you maxed throwing bomb and not Recoil shot, when Recoil shot is infinitely more useful than throwing bomb.

Yes, Grenade is a fun but USELESS skill. Again, Recoil shot is not that useful either, but it is better out of the two.

ehh does grenade have like an arc to it??? (basically throwing in a rainbow) cause if so I would max that first then you could like garentee a win in MCPQ. Just stand on the platform and throw.:)

Well, I put in 2 builds for gunslingers. One maxes Grenade and the other maxes Recoil Shot. Happy now? o.o

Umm ya I would make just another build for the first job its alot and I mean ALOT easier to level up with SSK at level 11 first. That way you can wait till you have more HP until till double shot, cause it doesn't have that much range so I think useing SSK can have big pros in makeing the gunslinger.

2.does more damge than double shot for along time.

Idk I think it's just better.
