D in D. Roy does not stand for Doctor, but rather a name given to the modified version of a pre-existing mechanical apparatus. Since building the Neo Huroid, the alchemists of Alcadno have built an improved Roid which self-charges. It is more independently operated as alchemists had wished, but now they seem to be struggling with a new problem; the D. Roy is hard to control, which makes its maintenance and repair that much more difficult.
