According to the Ring Growth Manual, the first thing you need to do is to connect with the ring. Arnello says you should spend some time with the ring by hunting monsters together.Caution! You must have the Sylph Ring in your inventory when you complete the quest. You've defeated about 999 monsters, which made the ring change form.
